I’m stepping away from this blog for a while – I need some time out to re-group, review and reconnect with the landscapes that inspire me. Back to basics, sketching, journaling, photos. I’m really ready to move in a new direction but don’t know what, how or in which medium. The end of this month brings me to a much needed retreat time on Tyneside, not least as I’m still recovering from the flu.

One unexpected but much valued side-effect that has come from not being able to do any artwork has been the time to really look at my recent work (which is hung around my home) and reflect upon it. Below is one of my unexpected ‘favourites’ – I like the energy of it and the sense of place it has for me. Unusual for me to go with grey tones as I generally like strong colour.
