Wonderful to spend creative time in the new studio now it’s set up. All of the paintings I have out are in process, being worked on in rotation. This is my favourite way of working, moving from one to the next, then sitting and looking and allowing ‘fermentation’ time – asking myself open questions like ‘if there were a shape needed here what would it be?’ Likewise colour, texture. If an answer doesn’t come, no probs, I take myself to the workbench and play with journally bits of paper or create journal covers. Play. Ah. Happiness.
