When I’m stressed or uninspired I play with shape and colour, paint and different media. And then I find myself lighter, freer because I have no agenda, nothing to say. And out of that often comes inspiration, ideas. But always a sense of joy in the process, liberation from meaning…and through that I find meaning, make meaning. This is the way of mindfulness for me and within it I am free, joyful and present. That I might get an idea to move forward with a painting is a bonus. I move from stagnant to dancing with paint, paper, whatever – and creating something that has never, ever been created before! That to me is a small miracle.
