As we move nearer to Samhain I am pulled to travel back in time and explore my ancestry, those whose existence I honour for giving me the gift of this life. Yet where it is leading me is not where I expected (it rarely is!) – I am drawn to listen to the symbols that arrive, to scratch away at the obvious, surface layers and discover what lies beneath. It is very much like archeology.
