I often paint layer after layer of acrylic on gessoed paper. This creates a very pliable ‘leathery’ feel to the paper and is perfect for journal covers. The colours in this are perfect for autumn. There is something instilled in me from childhood I think, about this time of year – going back to school- new exercise books, I still get excited about a new, blank notebook. And I can get quite ecstatic in an art or stationery supplies shop!
